This shredder handles so much more than just a few sheets of paper. You can stack up to 10 sheets at a time and it will even handle the staples, so no need to pull them out first. There are individual shredding slots for paper, CD/DVDs and credit cards. Everything is cut extremely fine and the end result looks more like confetti than the typical lines of shredded paper you get with most machines. There are wheels located on the base than can be locked so they won’t roll when you don’t want them to.
The black and matte metal design has a modern feel and works well with any rooms color or wood scheme. The bin has a clear section in the center of the drawer so you can monitor how full it is. After turning the power switch on, everything else runs on it’s own. No need to press or hold any shredding buttons like with some other brands. Just feed in what you want shredded and the machine senses it. It then comes out of sleep mode and begins pulling the item inside for shredding.
The waste bin can hold quite a bit. After shredding 20+ pieces of paper and various CDs, there was just a thin layer of paper at the bottom of the canister. This size would be perfect for a home office or small business. This unit shreds paper so finely and the information is shredded so well that my husband is taking this unit to use in his office at work for legal papers that need shredded (he works in law enforcement). They require their documents be shredded to a specific level, and this more than meets it.
The Simply Shred PSC310D is a great looking shredder you won’t have to hide somewhere because it’s an eyesore. It’s sharp appearance and small footprint will make deciding on a spot in your office for it a pleasure instead of a chore. It works perfectly and I can’t recommend this shredder enough! Absolutely love it!
